Spring Semester at NEGOCIA

Founded in 1992 by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP), NEGOCIA is an international academic institution dedicated to marketing, sales, international trade and business negotiation. Sixty permanent faculty and 500 regular visiting lecturers from the business community provide students with a thoroughly modern and constantly evolving curriculum. Located within the city of Paris, a major center of world trade and commerce, NEGOCIA offers ultra-modern facilities including a multimedia resource center and independent study labs.

Academic Program

Students will participate in the International Semester. Classes are comprised of both international and French students, and are taught by French and European faculty. Courses are available in both English and French.

Accommodations

Students will be housed in a private residence hall (double room) with easy subway access to the school.

Mid-January to mid-May, 2010 (specific dates will be issued at a later date)

Eligibility

Open to students from any accredited U.S. college or university either majoring in Business or European Studies. Students in Economics, Political Science, History, Engineering, and other majors may also qualify for admission (interested students should contact program coordinator for eligibility). Minimum 2.8 GPA required. (Exceptions considered only after submission of a petition.)

Though not required for admission, students are strongly encouraged to enroll in some beginning French instruction (FREN 107 or FREN 110) prior to departure in order to take full advantage of their study abroad experience.

Cost

2009-2010 Academic Year

KU Students: Approximately $7,300 for the Spring semester
Non-KU Students: Approximately $7,600 for the Spring semester

The program fee includes tuition, fees, emergency medical evacuation and repatriation services, and KU orientation.

Additional costs: Room and board ($13,700), airfare, passport and French Visa fees, books, local transportation, and personal expenses.

All dates, costs, and program information are subject to change as necessary due to fluctuations in the exchange rate or other reasons.

Financial Aid

KU students who qualify for financial aid in the form of Stafford and/or other loans, Pell or SEOG Grants, and scholarships may apply the aid to the cost of a Study Abroad Program.

Limited supplemental scholarships are available to KU undergraduates. Applications are available at the Office of Study Abroad. You can also download the scholarship application. The scholarship application deadline is October 1 for Spring.

Non-KU students should check into the resources available to them at their home institution.

Applications submitted after the deadline will only be considered with prior approval of the program coordinator at the Office of Study Abroad.
