Share Your Experience

There are a number of opportunities to your experience with students who are interested in study abroad.

  • Be a returnee contact. Prospective students enjoy having someone to talk to about the way things really are abroad. Contact us at osa@ku.edu if you would be willing to receive emails and/or phone calls from students. Please include your name, email and/or phone number that you would like for us to give out.

  • Write an article and/or submit photos for Jayhawks Abroad, the OSA’s on-campus newsletter published in the University Daily Kansan.

  • Share your photos. We rely on students' photos to help us publicize KU study abroad programs.

  • Volunteer at our Study Abroad Fair. Volunteering to staff a table for your program for an hour or two is a very important service and a great way for students to find out about programs.

  • Volunteer at Study Abroad Orientation. This is a great way to share your wisdom with students about to depart on study abroad programs.

Jayhawk Exchange Friends

Become a Jayhawk Exchange Friend. Exchange friends are KU study abroad returnees who are partnered with an incoming exchange student for a semester or year. For more information on this program, contact Tracy Miller in the Office of Study Abroad at tracymiller@ku.edu.

Phi Beta Delta

Apply to become a member of Phi Beta Delta, the Honor Society for International Studies. Phi Beta Delta recognizes high scholastic achievement of international and U.S. students. Global Awareness Program (GAP)

GAP is a KU program that recognizes undergraduates' international experiences. Students must complete two of three components to earn a GAP certification on their transcripts. For more information, visit the GAP website at http://www.ku.edu/~oip/programs/GAP/index.shtml.
