The University of Hull

Hull, England

Kingston-upon-Hull is a city of 275,000 people, a major manufacturing and business center and Britain’s premier east-coast port. It manages to maintain the civilities of a country town while offering all the facilities and amenities that you would expect from England’s tenth-largest city. Visitors to Hull are often surprised by the greenness of the city and by the general absence of high-rise development. The modern city of Hull has a distinctively spacious and easy-paced feel.

Students at the University of Hull can take advantage of easy access to a spectacular coastline and some of the most beautiful open spaces in the UK such as the Yorkshire Wolds, the Plain of Holderness, and the North York Moors National Park, not to mention the many historic towns and cities nearby such as Pickering, Helmsley, Driffield, Beverly and York. For students wishing to travel even further, the Hull ferry port offers daily overnight service to Rotterdam, Netherlands and Zeebrugge, Belgium.

The university was established more than 75 years ago and enrolls 15,000 students in 49 disciplines.

Less-common offerings available at the Hull campus: Drama, some Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, Hispanic Studies, Law (a year-long certificate program in English Law for international students is available), Music, South-East Asian Studies (an opportunity to fulfill Non-Western requirements), and Theology (Religious Studies).
