The University of Exeter

Exeter, England

With a population of around 100,000, Exeter is the county seat of Devon in southwest England. In recent years it has consistently rated in national surveys as one of the best places to live in the UK. Some of the most stunning countryside in Britain is right on the doorstep. The national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor and the heritage coastline of Devon and Cornwall provide not only spectacular scenery, but also plentiful opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. The coastal town of Exmouth with its sandy beaches is only 20 minutes away on the train.

The Streatham Campus, which is the home to the majority of the university’s 10,500 students, is built around a former country estate and overlooks the city, which is only a short walk away. The grounds are noted for the collection of rare trees and other plant species, which flourish in the milder climate of the South West region. In fact, the University is reputed to have one of the most beautiful campuses in the UK. The campus buildings, residence hall and most University flats are all conveniently situated within walking distance of one another.

"Exeter is very easy to fall in love with. It has one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, in one of the most beautiful counties in Britain."
