Danish Institute for Study Abroad

Study in Copenhagen, Denmark’s beautiful capital and a European capital city in every sense of the word. DIS offers several areas of study: Architecture and Design, Biotechnology and Biomedicine, Communication and Mass Media, European Culture and History, European Politics and Society, International Business and Economics, Medical Practice and Policy, Migration and Identity, and Psychology and Child Development. Courses are taught in English by Danish professors. Danish language classes are offered as an option.

Courses are designed for undergraduate students in their junior or senior year and are geared toward students prepared to do serious academic work. DIS will consider second-semester sophomores with high academic achievement who have taken the required course prerequisites.

Study Tours: Most courses have several field study events during the semester to add depth and perspective to the courses. All students participate in a three-day study tour to western Denmark. Depending on the course of study, tours may visit Berlin, Prague, Amsterdam, Brussels, Stockholm, Poland or Finland.

Summer: Special Design and Architecture courses include pre-Architecture, industrial, furniture, interior design architecture studios and furniture, glass and textile design studios. Other summer options include European Culture and History, European Politics and Society, International Business and Economics, Medical Practice and Policy, Psychology and Child Development, HIV/AIDS in Western Europe, and Prostitution and Human Trafficking in Europe.
